How to enter CIS deductions on a SA100 tax return

To enter Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) deductions on the self-employment section of an SA100 tax return:

  • From the Individual Tax Return summary screen, check Self-Employment (Full)
  • Click the red arrow next to the checkbox
  • From the Self-Employment (full) (SA103F) screen, click Add
  • Make the necessary entries on Self-Employment (full) (i)
  • Go to the Self-Employment (full) (iv) tab
  • Enter the CIS figure in box 81 (Total CIS deduction taken from your payments by contractors)

 

To add the CIS deductions to the Self-employment Short form:

  • From the Individual Tax Return summary screen, check Self-Employment (Short)
  • Click the red arrow next to the checkbox
  • From the Self-Employment (short) (SA103F) screen, click Add
  • Make the necessary entries on Self-Employment (Short) (i)
  • Go to the Self-Employment (short) (iii) tab
  • Enter the CIS figure in box 38 (Total CIS deductions taken from your payments by contractors)
