The BTCSoftware team are very proud of CEO, Rob Ellis, for his efforts on Saturday’s ‘off-road’ London to Brighton bike ride in aid of the British Heart Foundation. This is Europe’s biggest charity mountain bike event.

Rob cycled the whole way – a distance of 75.79miles. He stresses this included even going up and down the steps of the A3 bridge and (much harder) the South Downs climb which a lot of people walked up.

Rob completed the course in an impressive 6hr 59min and 57secs and had an average speed of 10.8 mph.

Describing the experience, he said “We had great weather and no punctures between the four of us. The worst part of the whole day was having to use South West Trains to get home. Due to issues on the line we had to take 4 trains to get back to the station and then cycle another mile up-hill to get back to the start point and our car!”

Another interesting stat which came out of the ride was the 4432 kCalories Rob burned up – so we expect he’ll be up for extra biscuits this week in the office!

Well done Rob!
